The 1tg Grading Scale Explained

Before giving you our ratings, it is important that you understand exactly how we assign our marks and draw our conclusions. When reviewing the different bingo sites, we have adopted a traditional schoolhouse system for grading, which runs grades A through F. Our explanation of our grading scale is as follows:

The Marks & Ratings

• A rated bingo sites: A grade of an A is reserved for the best of the best in any given category. We do not “hand out” a grade of an A. Thus, a bingo site receiving such a grade has surely worked hard to earn it.
• B rated bingo sites: A bingo site receiving a B indicates that the site in question is considered highly attractive and above average in the observed category.
• Grade C bingo sites: A bingo site earning a C grade suggests it is ordinary or average at best. When looking at “average” bingo sites, it is important to understand the context of the phrase “at best.” The C suggests that the site could improve significantly in the category, but that the problem is one of effort or focus. This should not be confused with bingo sites receiving lower scores, which we will discuss next.
• D rated bingo sites: If a bingo site receives a grade or score of a D, this means that they are below average in the category. The D grade also suggests that the player’s risk is high and that players are likely better off looking elsewhere. Additionally, a D grade suggests incompetence that can be improved on with a little focus, but does not suggest fraud, severe issues or scams (see below).
• F rated bingo sites: An F is reserved for bingo sites that we believe are fraudulent, scams, or have severe issues that need corrected before we can recommend them to anyone. The F rating is consistent with those bingo sites we would avoid and even blacklist. There are many reasons we would fail a bingo site (issues processing payments, no licence, history of owners ripping people off, etc.). We also award an F when we feel a site is so far off the mark in a given category that it is ridiculous in our eyes.

Our Weighting of Category Grades in assigning a “Final Grade”

We assess bingo sites over eight main categories. However, each category is weighted differently in determining a bingo site’s overall grade. In addition, each category may have a subcategory rating (for example, we look at bingo games, slots games and casino games that each site offer. A site may receive a B in their bingo games offerings, yet they get an A in slots games). All subcategory information is used to determine a site’s overall categorical grading. This is all explained in the appropriate category section.

Our system for providing overall bingo site rankings are as follows (for more detailed information on the various categories for which we rate bingo sites, please visit the appropriate topical ratings page):

• Character/Licence: 25% – reputation, licence, history of brand, history of company and/or management, financial stability. Said another way, CHARACTER MATTERS in our reporting.
• Payment Options: 15% – number of payment options, supported currencies, speed of payouts, terms of payouts, payout issues. Getting paid is important, otherwise why play?
• Support: 15% – availability of support to players, accuracy & general effectiveness of support, clear terms, resolution process clearly defined in case of a player dispute. “Help us help you.”
• Bonuses: 10% – percentage of bonus, monetary size of bonus, number of different bonuses, terms and conditions associated with bonuses
• Games: 10% – bingo games offerings in terms of frequency, types of games, and pricing. Other games offered. Does this site offer games that no one else offers?
• Promos: 10% – special games, special deals, jackpots, extra bonuses, incentives, themes, VIP Programs
• Software: 10% – ease of navigation, reliability, stability, security
• Free Money: 5% – no deposit bonuses, recurring free games available to all players, depositor’s freebies
• Bonus points can be added to a bingo site’s overall grade for those who go “above and beyond” to stand out as a leader when compared to the rest.

The sum of all grades will be used in determining the bingo site’s overall ranking and a final overall grade will be assigned accordingly. We may change, adjust, or tweak our grading scale as we see the need to do so. If we make such adjustments, we will always provide notice and justification of such changes on this page.
