Virgin Games

With gaming licences in both Malta & Alderney, Virgin Games operates a diverse group of branded gaming sites such as Virgin Bingo, Virgin Casino, Virgin Mobile, and Virgin Poker. These gaming sites were collectively part of the Virgin Group, founded by Sir Richard Branson.

In late 2012, Virgin Games announced they had sold their Virgin Bingo brand to Gamesys. Since Gamesys took ownership of Virgin Bingo, customer service has slowed down slightly. Additionally, regular players of many years surely have noticed that the selection of games and payment options that were previously available to Virgin Bingo players have been significantly reduced.

Whilst it is a bit too early to conclude whether this is merely “growing pains” from purchasing such a large brand, we issue a cautious “C-” rating on Gamesys as owners until they prove otherwise.

About Virgin Games

Virgin Gaming and their various online gaming properties are licenced in both Alderney and Malta and is therefore bound by all rules and regulations pertaining to these licences. Virgin Gaming owns and operates Virgin Bingo, Virgin Casino, and Virgin Poker. In 2004, Virgin Gaming opened Virgin Casino and started to offer games from leading software suppliers such as Cryptologic Limited, Gamesys Limited, IGT Interactive, Microgaming and Virtue Fusion to name just a few. They quickly followed this with the release of Virgin Poker that operates under the International Poker Network. In 2005, they released Virgin Bingo, which is now rated as one of the top online bingo sites in the UK.

The success of the Virgin Gaming brand is not shocking as the Virgin Group is incredibly successful and with a gentleman like Richard Branson fronting the show (and all his antics such as flying solo around the world in a hot air balloon), the Virgin name has become well known and goes hand in hand with success. Virgin Gaming bases its offices out of the U.K as well as Guernsey. Financially speaking, Virgin Gaming is strong and is consistently able to meet all financial obligations.

The Virgin Casino currently offers over 250 games to players. These games include a full range of styles such as video slots, video poker, table games, card games and many others. These games all offer the player a superior gaming experience with superb gaming graphics and sounds. The animations offered in many of the games are excellent and as there is a wide variety of different software providers games under the Virgin Casino portfolio players can be assured only the best of the best has been selected for the casino.

When you visit any of the Virgin properties, you are able to access all of them under one player account. This allows for players the opportunity to access a wide range of gaming styles with a single account versus the need to open multiple accounts with different gaming sites. This is the new trend online as more and more operates are realizing the benefits to operating a super brand versus multiple sites.

The Virgin Bingo, casino, and poker sites all offer a full range of support options to its players including Live Chat, email and telephone. The level of support is offered at this level based on the corporate position to provide a superior gaming site that is focused on proving superior customer service in multiple formats. They further take the approached towards providing a safe, secure and security conscious site that believes in social responsibility. To this degree, they have been awarded a GamCare certification and proudly display this on their websites.

For those who may be considering registering a player account with any of the virgin Gaming brands they offer a number of promotional perks such as 100% match deposits for the casino, minimal deposit of £10 for £35 free, a £600 bonus for poker and for the mobile a £25 welcome bonus. The Virgin brands do not offer a very wide range of options when looking at the banking features. Currently they offer Bank Transfer, ISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, NETeller and PayPal. The acceptance of PayPal deposits is limited to only those residing in the U.K and Ireland. They offer some superior banking rules geared towards the protection of players. The minimum for deposits are excellent and with no maximums on withdrawals makes playing at any of the Virgin brands extremely appealing.

Overall, we are highly impressed with Virgin Gaming. They have created a set of gaming sites that are player friendly and take a light-hearted approach in the way they describe many aspects of what they offer. This is not surprising consider the personality of Sir Richard Branson.

Upgrade of Virgin Games / Gamesys to B+

On 18 May 2012, our bingo analysts downgraded Virgin Games as a precautionary measure due to their sale of Virgin Games & Virgin Bingo to Gamesys. We cited “growing pains” from expanding in such a manner and we experienced such symptoms from the transition. We continued to monitor Virgin Bingo and their new ownership and it appears as if they have all the kinks finally worked out (with several months of a positive track record) We can now remove our caution and we are pleased to upgrade Virgin Games & Gamesys to a B+ character rating.

We now feel comfortable reccommending Virgin Bingo as a fun, suitable, and trustworthy place bingo site.
